Athleisure And The Rise of Athflow
I shall begin the second post on fashion trends with my opinion. Before the pandemic, fashion was usually conceived by designers. They would conceive an idea that would then become either a trend or a fad. The 1980s and 1990s were the best fashion trends in my view. Since Covid began, global perceptions changed for all aspects of life. I could say it affected designers too. Although there has not been much creativity lately, their conception transitioned to perception. So what is your take on the current fashion trend? I say it’s nothing more than perception and push! Work from home drove the newest loungewear trend. it is 'athleisure and the rise of athflow'.
Now let’s jump into athleisure and Athflow fashion. Before I explain
the latter, I want to say I would not be quoting Pinterest team and Kanai that
much, because I will be giving my interpretation of what I understood their
predicted trend to be. To my lovely readers, I’ll keep the definitions short and
simple.
Athleisure
Athleisure stands for athletic leisure aka aesthetically
appealing comfortable clothing blended with activewear. Athleisure aesthetic
has been around for some time now but it has evolved into a street style since
2019.
To pull off your athleisure look, accessorize your athletic
ensemble to look stylish! Try these ideas for fall season;
- Try mustard joggers with an ivory lace blouse. Match it with a monochrome bag, and snug your feet in white pair of sneakers.
- Dress up your athletic wear with the trending white ankle boots or knee-high boots for the perfect street style fashion moment 2021.
- As fall season is round the corner, don't forget to overload the above with blazers, coats, and hats.
Cloffice
The second term is “Cloffice”. Here, perception is the major
factor driving today's fashion. Most people around the world are working from
home (WFH). So they need to dress up to a refined, sophisticated, and elegant
“professional look” for Zoom calls. Achieving the seasoned WFH look is
Cloffice, which stands for closet plus office.
Athflow
What is Athflow? According to 2021 Pinterest Predicts
Report and Aya Kanai, their dubbed term ‘Athflow’ is where athleisure meets
elegance. Athflow is evolving into the next phase of loungewear, a sartorial
elegance. Athflow is “professional enough for the office, stretchy enough for
the yoga mat, and comfy enough for the couch.” Still confused? Allow
"Lifestyle Prism" to clarify it for you!
Athflow = Athleisure + Cloffice.
This sums up everything you need to know about
athflow.
Let’s keep things simple and not complicate them!
Changing for too many looks could get overwhelming and complicated. After all,
fashion since last year is pretty straightforward. It has been nothing other than seeking
comfortable clothing, a stay-at-home attire that could easily transition to
outdoor clothing. The style is here to stay especially for fall and winter. So why not refine your
style once. Bring luxe to your
loungewear. Look polished for your conference call, do your grocery, enjoy your
couch and tea, watch Netflix, and maybe do a quick workout at home or go
cycling. Embrace the future of loungewear, the comfiest fashion trend. The
future of fashion is going to be none other than the rise of athflow.
The athflow concept arose due to data-driven
predictions by the Pinterest team. When around 400 million Pinterest users were
searching for terms like “work outfits for home”, and “home dresses”. They
predicted that emerging fashion would translate into the newest loungewear
trend. When loungewear outperformed online luxury retailers, designers started
embracing the athflow concept into their most glamorous ensembles that you can
dress up or down. Although we were already living the athflow life, but
Pinterest drew our attention with the dubbed athflow term.
This idea is getting blended into athleisure clothing and could translate into a mainstream upcoming lifestyle. Many fashion designers are blending these already consumer-driven ideas into their athluxury collections. Before I give you some ideas, I would re-assert that I target global fashion and all things style. So I prefer choosing the best styles I love out of many and throw you some ideas to decide what Athflow outfits to buy.
Now before you read below, this is to also inform that this trend corresponds perfectly with Fall and Winter seasons because of the cozy textures, and comfortable clothing we all crave to wear in these months. So let’s see how to get the perfect Athflow Wardrobe for Fall and Winter.
