MIZON Collagen Lip Essence And Hand Cream Review

MIZON Collagen Lip Essence and Hand Cream Review

Today's post is on MIZON Collagen Lip Essence And Hand Cream Review. I would be reviewing two antiaging collagen-powered aqua volume lip essence, and hand & foot cream by Mizon. The Mizon Collagenic Aqua Volume Lip Essence (right), and Hand and Foot Cream [Collagen] (left), followed by my opinion and verdict.

Review of Collagen Lip Essence And Hand Cream By Mizon

1. Mizon Collagenic Aqua Volume Lip Essence

MIZON Collagenic Aqua Volume Lip Essence is a moisturizing, concentrated, and anti-aging lip treatment with an SPF 10 UV Protection. It is transparent and has a glossy finish. The formula is safe, free of parabens, and artificial pigments. It may be a preferred choice for those looking for a vegan skincare routine. 10ml retails for approx. USD 10.

Main Ingredients

  • Ethylhexyl methoxycinnamate – Anti-UV filter.
  • Five plant-based oils including Grapeseed oil – A superstar ingredient with high antioxidant properties to combat free radicals.
  • Collagen from plant-derived sources including almonds - antiaging.

Review

For a lip treatment product, its texture is as thick as a serum. It has a sweet fruity fragrance to it but no taste. It comes in a tube which is a great way to avoid hand contact. I prefer the packaging that is designed to avoid contamination of the product. This product is a hit or a miss with the crowd. With me, I’ll focus on technical grounds for you to decide based on that.

I have extremely dry, chapped, and cracked lips most of the time. So I am always looking for heavy-duty lip treatments. But this Mizon lip care was not. It was not moisturizing enough for me and didn't give my lips the plumping effect the product claimed. I have deduced two reasons why. It could be that the Ethylhexyl methoxycinnamate, an ingredient for chemical sunscreens, did not suit my skin type. I did not feel hydrators penetrating my skin. I also felt that for me, the humectant Biosaccharide gum was not enough to retain moisture. I needed more than that. But, people have loved the plumping effect it gave them. As every skin is different, this product could be for you.

This product is more appropriate for those with moderately dry lips. The hydration would effectively give your lips the plumping effect, plus the collagen would help to improve your skin texture.

Would I repurchase? Probably not.

Recommended for? Moderately dry to dry lip texture.

2. Mizon Collagen Hand & Foot Cream

Mizon’s Hand & Foot Cream range is under their “Mizon Young Hand and Foot Project”. It is an anti-aging treatment series that is available in three categories to target different skin conditions. The categories are;

  • Snail (dry and damaged skin)
  • Collagen (wrinkles and resilience)
  • Hyaluronic Acid (pure hydration)

The Collagen Hand & Foot Cream is targeted for wrinkled hands and poor resilience. The collagen is cell-communicating, signaling repair. 100ml retails for USD 5.12. They have changed the packaging but unfortunately, I have the previous packaging of Mizon collagen hand cream that says the product will keep your hands moisturized. The new one says it’ll increase your skin’s elasticity (you might notice that in the picture).

Main Ingredients

  • Let’s check out a few Superstar ingredients worthy of notice.
  • Collagen. This product includes a type of protein extracted from fish scales that mimic the collagen of human skin.
  • Centella Asiatica, and Licorice. Two powerful antioxidants.

Review

I've got extremely dry, Sahara desert hands with damaged, cracked skin. Detergents of every kind don't suit my skin including regular soaps. It got worst during Covid with extra washing and sanitizer use. I usually look for repairing treatments to toughen up my skin, so this time I got the Mizon anti-aging hand cream for wrinkles and repair.

Mizon collagen hand cream is a lightweight cream but non-greasy, exactly what I look for in hand creams. I layer it twice and is still not greasy. You would feel slight moisture left on your hands for a few minutes of applying it, till it’s fully absorbed. I liked that extra hydration. It has a nice floral fragrance to it. I have to admit this part. For my sensitive and cracked skin, I prefer fragrance-free hand creams half the time, because they hurt and further wrinkle my skin. But other times, I also want my hands to smell good. I went away with it “solely for the reason that it had collagen from fish scales", and the nutritious plant extracts to heal, tighten, and brighten hands. I started using it a month ago and I can confirm it is making my hands feel light, comfortable, and very smooth. The skin already feels quite youthful. It is packaged in a tube, exactly how I want a hand cream to be in, to carry it in your bag.

Would I repurchase? Yes.

Recommended for? Dry, and very dry hands.

Verdict

I will wrap up the reviews with three key points.

i. My personal experience with Mizon:

I've tried their lip treatment serum, a hand cream, a sheet mask, a moisturizer, and an eye cream. I felt that their products did not have too many hydrating ingredients/humectants my very dry skin needed.

ii. What skin type is Mizon most suited for:

Mizon mainly targets dry, normal, combination, and oily skin types. If you belong to any of these classes, you would want to try out their products! For extra dry to sensitive skin types, you might want to try another brand or do a product combination with Mizon.

iii. Why you should buy Mizon’s products:

Mizon is a great Korean brand known for its snail but more so, collagen-infused products. Their collagen works! They have an amazing product range, and that is why you should try it. Some of Mizon’s top products to try are Snail Repair Eye Cream (in my upcoming reviews), Snail Repair Intensive Ampoule, and Collagen Eye Gel Patch. Their cica and Vitamin C ranges are currently trending.

My Suggestion to Mizon:

If Mizon has any products targeting very dry to sensitive skin types, then I would suggest adding more calming and hydrating ingredients/humectants, to fully cater to that segment of the market.

  5. I too have extra dry skin so I am not sure Mizon would be the best for me. I still would be open to try it. You've done a thorough review of these products and I did enjoy learning about them. I typically only buy products that have been reviewed by bloggers. I like to know what I am getting before I get it!

I am looking forward to your review of products with snail ingredients, as I use a mask with such, and it perfectly moisturizes the skin.
