1. WHITE HOME DECOR
Trends come and go, but white would always remain the most
versatile, classy, and timeless color option you can do in home décor. White is
illuminating, minimalist, simple, clean, and pure. The color relaxes, and
awakens senses. White complements every interior design style, and home décor
trend. It can change the vibe of the whole space, and give it the perfect base
for every color scheme, texture, and flooring. All white house interior is
never a dull theme and would always make your space look sophisticated,
elegant, and classy.
Add white in all furniture and accents throughout the home,
and you would see how it makes your space look beautiful, and serene.
If you want to make a space look bright, make white your base
color and use it in big pieces such as sofas, bedding, tall curtains, and large
sized rugs. Currently the most popular wall paint color choice is white. You
can safely go for complete white home décor accessories. White marble table top
can serve as a great focal point of the room. Keep the rug a light white hue,
solid and plain in design. Bring some interest to your space with a large size
wall art in solid whites or neutrals. Skip small art paintings.
Then, if you want to introduce bright colors, accentuate the
space with an accent color in small décor items and accessories such as
cushions, pillows, throws, accent chairs, vases, and sculptural pieces. White
walls would unite with wall art to lift up the whole space with tiny talking
chirpy accent colors added here and there. Skip small plants again, and place a
large green plant in the room in a textured white planter near natural light
source.
The idea to skip plenty of small pieces, and going for bigger
items in less quantity is to keep the space clean, organized, and minimal.
For the contemporary modern look, combine white walls with
warm neutrals, and tactile materials such as wood, textured fabrics, marble,
and metal. Focus on the nature inspired trend to create a cozy ambiance. Wooden
furniture, and black or gold accents would give it the contemporary character.
White, and black accents are characteristic of modern décor.
Then, combine warm neutral color palette such as beiges and
greiges in white room décor, with not more than one or two accent colors such
as pinks, blues, greens, yellows, or oranges.
Popular White Paint Colors:
For white paint color inspiration, check out finest whites and neutrals by Sherwin Williams, and their ashy "Pure White".
More popular white and off-white paint color options from Benjamin Moore; I liked their grounded “Acadia White”.
“Atrium White” by Dulux.
Trending “Whisper White” by Behr. (given in sequence in image)
These whites are nature inspired paint colors. The best thing about these colors is that these are not stark white so you can easily coordinate any colors with them into your current home décor theme, or achieve the white rooms of your choice.
2. BLUE HOME DECOR
We saw that the color of the year 2022 was green in all hues,
tones, and shades. The trend dominated because nature came inside in full
swing. But there are also those people who choose blue home décor. For them, good
news is that blue has been favored by many critics among 2022 color trends.
Blue color sometimes gets overlooked, but you can bring it into your home
design with minimal effort.
Blue is a very easy color to pair up with whites, and neutral
color palettes.
Blue is breezy, refreshing, and relaxing. Light hues give the
home calming and awakening effect, and dark hues evoke night time vibes. It is
a versatile color that complements many color palettes and interior design
styles such as traditional, modern, bohemian, glam, and art deco.
For a fancy glam style,
go for a dark blue hue, and complement it with light neutrals and textures such
as velvets, golden fabrics and accents. Art
deco is another fancy architectural style of geometric and stylized
patterns. In it, blue is often the dominating factor that is combined with soft
creams, and beiges for a decadent look.
For a breezy, light and bright feel, complement light blue
walls with natural textures and hues such as wood, cane, jute, cottons and
white linens, pillows, and rugs. Go for wooden furniture or a tan ottoman to
bring lively warmth to the space.
You can achieve this look with an already chosen blue paint
color of the year 2022, Dulux – “Bright Skies”. The color would give your space
the airy and refreshing vibe it promises.
For the contemporary modern home décor, combine dark blue
hues with neutrals such as whites, greys, and beiges to bring warmth into your
home while keeping it elegant. White or black accents would be a modern
makeover into your current design style. You can always introduce a large wall
art with a pop of blue color as the statement piece if the rest of the space is
neutral themed. It would serve as the larger than life home décor, and make
your interior design stand out. Or if you want to use blue home décor accents,
keep your walls white.
One of the wall colors with blue accessory décor can be
“Candlelit Beige” by Dulux.
Popular Blue Paint Colors:
Check for blue paint colors by Sherwin William - “Dew Drop”, and “Stargazer”.
More blue paint colors by Benjamin Moore – “Ocean Air”, and “Baltic Sea”. (given in sequence in image)
Don’t worry if you choose a dark hue, because these are all blue color things in nature. So you are guaranteed to have the calming vibe in your home.
Conclusion
White is always your safest and best choice in home décor. A
white home also increases real estate value. Blue is another versatile option
that has been favored a lot recently throughout the world.
You can use whites, or blues hues in almost all interior
design styles or just to update your current home appearance. If you use a
monochromatic color palette, that would also give your home a contemporary modern
finish. The colors are perfect with neutral palettes, and tactile materials. It
would be your token of serenity, elegance, and sophistication in your living
spaces.
